as the appropriate substitute for the Canton-Hankow Railway

8.

Repairs arising out of running shall be performed

as regards labour at cost, but materials and stores shall

be subject to an additional charge of 5% and such costs

shall be a fair charge against the Canton-Hankow Railway.

9. Two baggage clerks shall be loaned to the British Section by the Canton-Hankow Railway for the purpose of

dealing with baggage and parcel traffic it being understood

that lodging shall be provided by the Kowloon-Canton Railway (British Section) whilst wages and allowances shall be the

subject of division between the Three Railways, which

arrangement shall be confirmed by correspondence.

10. Free quarters for the whole train staff excluding

Car Boys shall be provided by the Canton-Kowloon Railway (British Section) as accommodation permits, and subsistence allowance at a rate not exceeding $4.00 H.K.C. per month

per person which shall be the subject of division in the

ratio of 32:4:1 between the Three Railways.

11. For South bound traffic tickets shall be sold only

from Hankow to Kowloon, but for North bound traffic tickets

shall be available from Kowloon to Chien Hsien, Heng Yang, Chu

Chow, Chang Sha and Wuchang East or Hankow. The mention

of Hankow on the through tickets is merely one of convenience

and the issue of vouchers for river transport shall be

within the discretion of the Canton-Hankow Railway
